by Clive and Rosie Palmer.
Self published though Lulu at www.lulu.com £6.99
This book has been written by Society members Clive and Rosemary Palmer (no. 179) and is the tale of a sixteen-year period of walking in the Lake District, during which time they have completed the ascent of all 214 fells in the seven Pictorial Guides.
Whilst it is very much a personal account of their walking experiences and in no way a guidebook to the Lakeland fells, the book will appeal to anyone who has walked our beloved Lakeland fells, and also to armchair walkers who can no longer climb the fells but who can recollect their former achievements by reading about Clive and Rosemary’s adventures over the years.
The book is 240 pages long and contains 112 black and white photographs of fells, views from the summits and other places of interest in the Lake District.
This is a good read, ideal for the winter evenings when walkers are confined to home rather than being out on the fells. The book can be purchased by contacting Clive and Rosemary at 482 Bideford Green, Linslade, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire LH7 2TZ or by ringing 01525 378526. It can also be purchased via the website above.
