Unforgettable Walks to Take Before You Die
by Steve Watkins and Claire Jones.
ISBN 9780563539087. Published by BBC Books £18.99.
This is the fifth in the ‘unforgettable’ series of books (others being Places to See, Things to Do, Journeys to Take and Islands to Escape To) and features thirty varied walks throughout the world. These range from urban walking tours along Boston’s Freedom Trail and the stunning temples of Kyoto to the open countryside of the Yellowstone National Park in the USA and Peru’s Inca Trail.
The book includes walks ranging from leisurely jaunts such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater property and a stroll around the picturesque canals of Amsterdam, to demanding walks such as the Alpine Tour de Mont Blanc and China’s Leaping Gorge trek. From this country are the Coast to Coast Walk, the West Highland Way and the South West Coast path.
Richly illustrated throughout with some spectacular photographs, Unforgettable Walks to Take Before You Die is aimed at anyone looking for ideas for an inspirational trip of a lifetime.
