Best
walk that I have been on - Up there with the Milford Track. Should
be a National Trail! |

The
C-to-C walk covers some of England's best scenery and is a natural
contender for National Trail status. |

I
wholeheartedly support the campaign to elevate AW's Coast to
Coast Walk to National Trail status. You only have to review the C2C
Forums to see it far outdoes the Pennine Way for sheer interest, variety
and enjoyment for all ages. |

I
would like to support the campaign for Wainwright's Coast to Coast
Walk being given the status of a National Trail. It would be the best
long distance footpath in the country. |

We
both support the idea that the coast to coast walk should be recognised
as a national trail. It's a great achievement for anyone who completes
the walk. |

Surely,
any walk devised by the great and hugely missed Alfred Wainwright must
merit being awarded 'National Trail' status. I derived great pleasure
from following this wonderful mans footsteps through the varying landscapes
that is encompassed in this walk, and so beautifully described in his
book. |

I
have walked most of the national trails in this country, but
in my opinion the Coast to Coast is superior to any of these
and deserves the recognition of a national trail. |

Whilst
upgrading the Coast to Coast to a National Trail will not change the
walk, its rewards or the challenge, it is high time that it had the
same recognition formally as has the Pennine Way or other well-known
routes. |

I
fully support the move to adopt Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk

and recognised as is fit for such an important walk. |

My son and I walked half the trail in 2004. We'd like to finish it.
We were surprised at the lack of trail markers, though learned
from other walkers the reason. I commend the Wainwright Society
for pressing to have this outstanding trail "recognized".
I'd be honored to fund a real trail marker once you have received permission.

This
should not even be having to go to the lengths of a petition, it is
a disgrace that this trail has not already been recognised. |

The communities along the C2C have benefited from the coast2coasters
and will continue to do so long into the future. A wonderful
walk and many friendships have been forged along the route.

know...I actually thought it was already a nationally recognised walk...I
can't believe that it's not...Please do whatever is necessary to make
it so...
