Please make this Coast to Coast Walk a National Trail.

This must definitely be a National Trail as it is one of the best walks in the country.

Excellent walk which I completed in 1991, and would love to do again. It deserves better recognition.

I support the launching of a campaign to have 'A Coast to Coast Walk' officially recognised as a National Trail.

I thoroughly endorse the move for National recognition of the Coast to Coast Walk.

I thought the Coast to Coast Walk already was a National Trail! It is more famous than some that are.

National Trail recognition of C- to- C is long overdue! If underused Trails such as Wolds Way have National Trail status, then so should C - to-C!

It is the best long distance walk the U.K. has to offer by far. Well done Wainwright.

Fully agree with this petition both as a B&B owner on the C-C route and as a walker, having done the walk 3 times.

Should have been made a National Trail years ago.

All logic tells you that this should be a National Trail. It's a disgrace that it's not.

As a keen walker I am of the view that we should put in the investment necessary to maintain the coast to coast. This seems especially the case since it has been voted 2nd in an international league of long distance walks.

Please include the Coast to Coast Walk in the National Trail family.

Fully agree that the Coast to Coast walk is worthy of and certainly should be a "National Trail". The best walk my wife & I have ever done (1990).

This long distance walk must be given the recognition it deserves...besides its intrinsic beauty ..we have too few L.D. routes in the U.K.

As well as the Coast to Coast,we have completed a number of long distance trails, including the Milford Track in New Zealand (voted number one in the international league). In our opinion the Coast to Coast is the equal of any and definitely worthy of National Trail status.

I am walking the Coast-to-Coast path in sections over this Summer and have really appreciated where for some sections the path has been marked as the Coast-to-Coast route. It would be great to see that for the whole route and do think it deserves, as possibly the most loved of the long distance walks in the UK, to be recognised as a National Trail.

The Coast to Coast walk devised by Wainwright is the best Long Distance walk in the United Kingdom. Suitable for all ages, and can easily be broken down into shorter sections. It should be given the investment it needs to maintain and promote the areas it crosses.

I wholehearted support this campaign without any reservations and it should be supported by all who enjoy the great outdoors and if supported should be an unqualified success.

I have the book and the video and am planning to do the walk in 2008.

So many people have been inspired to do the Coast to Coast, as a personal challenge or to raise funds for charity, it would now make a fitting tribute to AW for National Trail Status to be given to the C2C. We give our full support to the campaign.
