I wholeheartedly offer my support to this cause, having walked the Coast-to-Coast and many other walks and Fells in the Lake District I feel the Lakeland is the most unique area in Britain, and should be acknowledged as such.

THE BEST WALK!

0347 Colin Saunders London UK
It's a great shame that this wonderful route has not yet been recognised as a National Trail. I detect a whiff of snobbery amongst the powers that be!
0346 Carl Klan Leicestershire UK
0345 David Nicholson West Yorkshire UK
0344 Mike Price Essex UK
It is an absolute disgrace that this route is not a National Trail.
0343 Lucy Jovkovich Essex UK

0341 Ann Gibbins Lincolnshire UK
We did the walk in 2005, excellent should be recognised.
0340 Brian Smith Isle of Man UK
Already in the planning and preparation stages to do the C2C walk next June, like many others I am travelling just to 'Do' this walk so agree it should be a nationally recognised walk/trail.
0339 Mrs Bonita Best Oxfordshire UK
0338 Ashley Watson North Yorkshire UK
The coast to coast walk is unique and should receive more recognition. The tour companys are constantly trying to lose our village of Ingleby Arncliffe prefering the nearby more profitable (for them) village of Osmotherley. The original route needs to be preserved before it is changed forever. ash@somersethousefarm.co.uk

Done it twice. This needs to be a national footpath.
0335 Patrick Jeffcoate Berkshire UK

There's something very special about long, linear walks, and particularly so about walking across the whole breadth of the country. I walked the Coast to Coast in 1990, and it was a wonderful experience which changed my life. I've not stopped walking since. I'd like everyone to be helped to experience the Coast to Coast. Making it a National Trail would do that.

Having walked the walk backwards on my own in 2007, I feel this should be a marked trail on maps.
0331 Donald & Doreen Harrison Merseyside UK
I was surprised to find that this trail is not an official one, and more since my wife and I completed it as a retirement project.
0330 Shaun Marshall West Yorkshire UK
It has to be up there with the pennine way as the premier long distance walk in this country. How can it be ignored ?

I walked the coast to coast in 2004, lots of freindly people along the way from all over the world, 7 nationalities in all from canada, america, australia, france, holland, sweden and germany, everyone saying what great walk they have had or are having. Making it a national trail would be even more publicity, bringing much needed cash along the trail, and possible improve the way marking

My husband and I completed the C 2 C back in 1994. It took us 12 1/2 days and landed in bay town on my 44th birthday on the 13th july. Brilliant!!. It deserves to be a national trail, probably the most popular trail in the UK.
0319 Steve Rowe North Yorkshire UK
Walked the C2C with my wife Majorie in '99 the best walk we've done, we are scheduled to do it again this year in june.
0318 Alan Thomas Staffordshire UK
0317 Keith Gregory Cheshire UK
I did the Coast to Coast Walk in June 2006. It's a great, great walk. Its beauty and historical importance mean that it fully deserves to have National Trail status.

I have completed this walk and in doing so met both British and foreign walkers who all would have helped the local tourist ecconomy. The Coast to Coast Walk goes through 3 National Parks, each with its own unique countryside, and is without doubt the best long distance path in the UK.
0305 Robbins AF East Yorkshire UK
It's a great walk
0304 Gill & Mark Johnson Wirral UK
0303 Ian Hall Leicestershire UK
0302 Graham Painter London UK
