A worthy addition to England's heritage.

I'm starting this week (April 07)West to East. AW's book has been invaluable for planning and I've added a few customised extra hills ( as AW suggested). Fully agree, with listing, mapping, funding and enjoying the route - wish me luck!

The first long distance walk I ever did, wich started my love of the great outdoors.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk last August completing in 10 days.

Thinking of attempting the walk this summer and support wholeheartedly the fact that it should ne a nationally recognised walk.

I walked the Coast to Coast in my teenage years (the 1970s). It is a fantastic walk and deserves National Trail status.

Why can't we have someone from The Wainwright Society to be in charge at the Natural England dept, as we all know they know what the are doing, not like a bunch of hypocrites they are, just like the local councils at times they havent got a clue, but that is how things are run these days the least you know the more power you have etc. etc. recurring.

I walked this magnificent path in 1994 with two companions, the first, and best, of my long distance walks. It was well marked, and we had Wainwright's and Hannon's guides plus all the appropriate maps for backup. Revisiting memories of those 14 days brings instant bliss. How can this path not be designated a National Trail?? Thank you for your efforts in support of this campaign!!

I completed this some years ago. The walk is fantastic and the experience will never be forgotten.

Planing to walk the coast to coast in June with the help of the great COUNTRY WALKING MAG. Walking it with my dad and son,and doing a report of the walk for the mag. CANT WAIT.

I have completed the coast to coast and it is well long overdue for AW to be recognised for giving us such a beautiful long distance path.

I walked the Coast to Coast last October, and it certainly ranks as one the greatest walks in the UK.

Never been on the walk but we plan to in July this year. Boy, I'm I looking forward to it.

Thoroughly enjoyed walking the coast to coast route (all 190 miles of it in 12 days!) but would have really appreciated the odd signpost to save constant references to maps and notes. Easier on the nerves!

Official recognition is long overdue.

Definitely merits national trail status, I walked the trail in 1995 and the contrast in scenery from west to east is truly amazing.

We live in Hartley, mid way on the route, Mr.Bowman invented the Coast to Coast Packhorse. We would like to see the route a national trail, there is a part of the route on public highway in this village that needs to be made a lot safer for walkers.

I walked the coast to coast in May 2002. Fantastic experience. I would do it again. I have now walked for 10 years and have done 10 long distance trails in the UK.

My son and I will be starting the C2C in 07. It must be granted National Trail status.

It should have been recognised umpteen years ago when I walked it.

Undoubtedly the Coast to Coast deserves to be in the 1st Division of long distance walks.
