Everest: The Hard Way

Dougal Haston and Doug Scott made the first ascent of Everest by its South West Face – “Everest: The Hard Way”. Although these two reached the summit, the climb was very much a team ascent and the critical section through the Rock Band was first climbed by Nick Escourt and “Tut” Braithwaite – this was the “Crux”. For the 35th Anniversary of the Chris Bonington-led expedition, Doug and “Tut” will give a special lecture.
