Gift Aid
Wainwright - Best of the Rest 2010

Following work done on Gift Aid by David Johnson (member no. 481) and after discussions with Fix the Fells, we have produced two Gift Aid forms to maximise the funds raised for them. As you probably know, Gift Aid is a means by which tax paid by UK tax payers can be recovered on donations to a charity. Members’ contributions to the Challenge can be increased by 28% in this way, which is a benefit we really do not want Fix the Fells to lose.

Gift Aid Form (164k)

The Gift Aid form is a straightforward declaration that the member wishes Fix the Fells to claim Gift Aid. Preferably, this can be completed on-line, following the directions at the bottom of the form. It can also be printed off, completed by hand and sent to – John Pulford, Treasurer, Wainwright Society, c/o Kendal Museum, Station Road, Kendal, LA9 6BT. The claim can be made retrospectively, so that members who have already contributed to the Challenge and can claim Gift Aid, are encouraged to complete the form as directed.

Sponsorship Form (140k)

The Sponsorship Form is for those members who are being sponsored for their Challenge and will allow their sponsors, where eligible, to inform Fix the Fells that they can claim Gift Aid. This form should be printed off, completed by the sponsors and returned by the member with his/her sponsorship money to John Pulford, Treasurer, Wainwright Society, c/o Kendal Museum, Station Road, Kendal, LA9 6BT.

We very much hope that all members taking part in the Challenge and who are UK tax payers, will take full advantage of Gift Aid, by completing and returning the declaration form, and by using the sponsorship form if funds are being raised that way.
