The Coast to Coast Walk
Launched in February 2009, a website designed to make the planning of your Coast to Coast trip a whole lot easier and less stressful to plan.

Brompton Lakes is an eco lodge development just outside Richmond. It sits at a natural resting point on the coast-to-coast route.


• Pennine Way

The Pennine Way Site - David Gibbins' account of his journey and lots of links to related sites.

The Pennine Way Association is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. It was founded in 1971 as "a focus of public interest" in Britain's first and finest long distance footpath.

Back to the Wall - Andrew Lambert's blog is aimed at collating information for the as yet untitled guidebook of the walk that was undertaken in 1998 following Wainwright's route of 1938.

Sedbergh is very well placed for exploring the Howgill Fells and, as England’s Book Town, it is an ideal place for Wainwright enthusiasts to find early editions of his books.

Kirkland Books is a secondhand bookshop in Kendal with Wainwright books as one of their specialities. The website includes a comprehensive bibliography with a separate guide to AW first editions, which will be of interest to collectors.

Kendal Museum - Alfred Wainwright was Honorary Clerk and Curator to Kendal Museum from 1945-1974. The Museum has many of his original pen and ink drawings on display including original pages for his famous 'Pictorial Guides'.

Mountainmere Research have reprinted Scratch & Co. The Great Cat Expedition, written by Molly Lefebure and illustrated by A. Wainwright.

A Wainwright (1907-1991) - A brief biography of Alfred Wainwright (1907-1991), writer and illustrator of walking guidebooks.

Phil's GPS Mountain Resources has GPS Waypoint Files for Wainwright's hill tops. Phil has also recorded GPS routes for much of his own Wainwright bagging.

Derry Brabbs collaborated with AW to produce a hugely popular seven book series on the English Lake District, Scotland and the Pennine Way and Coast to Coast long distance footpaths.

David McCormack is a Society member and Fine Art Photographer, using traditional monochrome materials.

Society member Keith Wood is an experienced outdoor photographer, specialising in landscape and heritage photography.

Lake District Landscapes showcases a stunning collection of Lakeland fine art photographic, canvas and panoramic prints from Lake District photographer Jon Allison.

Jeremy Tweedie is just starting out as a landscape photographer based in Ulverston and specializing in images of the Lake District.
