Big YHA discount for Wainwright Society members
We have agreed a significant discount with Youth Hostels in the Lake District for Wainwright Society members. Briefly, you can get dormitory accommodation at any of the 16 hostels without being a YHA member, paying only £15.00 per night for bed AND breakfast. Don't forget that your Society membership covers you and your immediate family, so this could be a big saving for a weekend or midweek break. Full details are on the Society website under Member Discounts, Accommodation, Hotels and B&B.

  • Our new Society Brochures and application forms will be displayed in a wide selection of Hostels throughout the Lakes, along with copies of Footsteps.
  • We have organised a discount for Society Members to use YHA accommodation in all Cumbrian Hostels at a low price and without having to take up YHA membership - more details can be found by clicking the following link Member Discounts
  • We will publicise YHA events that may be of interest to members on the Forum, and, where appropriate, via our website. Similarly the YHA will help promote Society activities.
  • We will promote each other’s organisation at various shows that we attend.
  • We will share links on Facebook and Twitter.
  • We will look to include items of interest about either partner in our regular publications.

We have set up a separate YHA ‘Board’ on our Society Forum to highlight any activities of interest to members; this is a sub-board under the ‘General’ heading.
