The Wainwright Society at Borrowdale Show 2009
After the Keswick Show was washed out, the Borrowdale Shepherds' Meet & Show, on Sunday 20th September, gave us the opportunity to try out our new marquee.

Firstly, the sun shone!!! - and that made for a very good day. We won third prize for "best marquee and friendliest welcome" out of forty plus stands (National Trust came first with their big budget marquee and displays).

We engaged with around 100 visitors to the marquee (a mix of members and non members), signed up some new members and raised some money for Kapellan and Fix the Fells through competitions that we ran.

The competitions proved very popular and provided a good source of dialogue about the Society and the Lakes in general. John Bewick and Andrew Denley gave good support on the day.
