Special Offer for Wainwright Society members only

The Bowderstone Bunkhouse (Bothy) (CA12 5XA) sleeps up to 12 people and is for the more adventurous traveller. (Linen and mattresses are not provided). It has a kitchen, accessible shower-room, bunk room and communal area, plus running water and electricity despite its remote location. There is no central heating but there are 2 wood burners. Accessible by foot, bike or wheelchair along a 600m path, this self-catering location is suited to those wishing to 'get away from it' as there are no amenities in the immediate area except a pub which is a 1.5 mile walk along a footpath to the village of Rosthwaite. Wainwright Society members can rent The Bowderstone Bunkhouse for £67 per night (normal price £100) for sole use with a minimum length of stay being 1 night.

Sleeping up to 14 people The Coach House is situated on the outskirts of Keswick and is part of the Calvert Trust's characterful listed Tithe Barn (CA12 4NT) that was once home to William Wordsworth. It has 2 large dormitories and an open plan central room that incorporates the kitchen, dining area and lounge. To the front there is parking and an outside south-facing seating area in the cobbled courtyard, with a shared utility room incorporating washing machine, tumble dryer and drying racks to the rear. The accommodation has central heating. All the amenities of Keswick are 5 minutes away by car, or 20 minutes by foot or wheelchair. Bed linen and mattresses are provided. Normally £162 per night, the price for members of the Wainwright Society is £108.50, which is for sole use for up to 14 people, with the minimum stay is 2 nights.

To book the Bowderstone Bunkhouse, the person making the booking must be a member of the Wainwright Society and must also be one of the attendees, although other members of the party can be non-members. For more information or to book, just call the Calvert’s centre on 017687 72255 and ask for 'bookings'.
