How the wainwright Society raises money for worthy causes

The Society is delighted to report that Encounters with Wainwright was placed in Runner-up position in this prestigious book prize, the only one in the UK outside London. David Johnson, editor of Footsteps and author of the book, attended the prize-giving charity lunch at Armathwaite Hall, Bassenthwaite, on 11th July. The winner was The Marches, by Society Honorary Member, Rory Stewart.

As previously reported, profits from sales of Encounters with Wainwright, all going to Animal Rescue Cumbria, are close to £6,000. Copies of this essential reading for Wainwright enthusiasts can be obtained here:
