The Society’s 2025 Challenge – Celebrating 70 Years of the Eastern Fells – raises £1,500 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service

We’re delighted to have made an initial contribution of £1,500, on behalf of Society members, to this year’s charity beneficiary, the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Many thanks to all who made a contribution to GNAAS’s excellent work.

Alfred Wainwright completed his ‘Personal Notes in Conclusion’ to accompany his first Pictorial Guide, The Eastern Fells, in December 1954. The book was published the following year, and our 2025 Challenge proudly celebrates the 70th Anniversary of AW’s first Pictorial Guide.

We’ll make a further contribution to GNAAS from sales of our 2026 Calendar.
