The Government Department for the Environment has produced new guidance for 2026 for the Coast to Coast National Trail

In March 2026 launch events were held in each of the three National Parks on the route and Society representatives were invited to speak about Wainwright’s Coast to Coast legacy

In August 2022 the Government announced that Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast Walk would be designated a National Trail

On November 25th 2021 the Society were invited to attend the unveiling of a memorial stone in Colburn, North Yorkshire. Located on the route of the Coast to Coast, Coburn is just two miles east of Richmond ('A Coast to Coast Walk' p113)
