The Society are pleased to announce that allocations for Challenge 2022 'The Northern Fells' are now complete. Demand was such that two further additional Challenges were included bringing the total to eighty-four.
As announced in the Winter Issue of “Footsteps” the Society’s 2022 AGM will be held, via Zoom, on Saturday 26th March at 3.00 pm.

The Society will shortly be re-publishing Walks on the Howgill Fells which is the companion guidebook to the recent re-publication of Walks in Limestone Country. This again will be based on Chris Jesty’s revised Second Edition
The Society has chosen Animal Rescue Cumbria as its main beneficiary for 2022. This year will be their 50th anniversary. AW became its chairman in 1974
2022 is a special year for the Society when it will mark its 20th anniversary of its formation at Ambleside Youth Hostel on 9 November 2002

Internationally renowned mountaineer, Alan Hinkes, has agreed to take part in this year's Challenge.
Alan is an honorary member of the Society and it is without doubt a privilege to have him with us in 2022
