The Wainwright Society Photographic Competition 2023

The 2023 Photographic Competition is now open.

This year there are two categories. We are very grateful to Val Corbett who has kindly agreed to judge the entries.

The rules for the 2023 competition are as follows:

1) Society members may enter up to TWO photographs into each of the following categories:

  • Wainwright Country — the location of the photographs should be in areas that Wainwright was associated with eg. Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Howgills, Pennines, Coast to Coast, Scotland etc.
  • British Countryside — the location of the photographs can be anywhere else in the British Isles and should capture the beauty of our countryside.

2) Members can enter one, or both, of the above categories, submitting up to two photographs in each category (a maximum of four photographs if both categories are entered).

3) Photographs should be submitted in digital format only to photocompetition@wainwright.org.uk

A confirmation of receipt will be emailed, and members should follow up if this is not received in a week.

4) The submitted email must include the member’s name, membership number and the titles of the photographs included.

5) The last date for entries is Sunday 28 January 2024.

Val Corbett will choose a winner and runner-up for each of the two categories. Val, an Honorary Society Member, lives on the eastern fringes of the Lake District and has been a freelance photographer for more than 30 years, regularly contributing photographs that have graced the front covers of Footsteps.
